Round quartz plate stock, cut to diameter and thickness, with center holes, bolt holes, or edge features added where your fixture needs them.
Diameter, thickness, and flatness move together — a large, thin disc holds flatness less easily than a smaller or thicker one at the same spec. Confirm all three together.
Available Shapes, Sizes and Surface Options
Standard disc is round with a plain edge, as-cut or ground face. Polished surface is available where the application needs an optical-quality finish rather than a functional flat.
Center Holes, Bolt Holes and Edge Features
Center holes and bolt-circle patterns are added by mechanical or diamond drilling down to about Ø0.8 mm at ±0.02 mm, or by laser for finer openings — send hole diameter, position, and bolt circle diameter (PCD) together, since PCD and hole position tolerance are checked as one feature, not separately. Edge options are plain (as-cut), ground, or chamfered.
Quartz Disc Diameter and Thickness Options
Thickness range narrows somewhat at the largest diameters — a very large, very thin disc is the hardest combination to hold flat, so confirm both dimensions together rather than assuming any thickness is available at any diameter. Before shipment we check diameter, thickness, roundness, flatness, hole diameter and position, edge condition, and surface defects.
Diameter, Faces and Edge Must Be Specified Together
| Controlled Feature | Reference Capability / Requirement |
|---|---|
| Diameter | Ø5–500 mm industry-reference rangeFinal size capability depends on thickness, material and finish |
| Diameter Tolerance | Reference ±0.05–0.10 mm |
| Thickness | Specified with tolerance and polishing allowance |
| Flatness / Parallelism | Applied to the functional face or clear aperture |
| Surface Quality | 80/50 functional / 60/40 precision / 40/20 optical reference levels |
| Center Hole / PCD | Hole diameter, bolt-circle diameter, count and angular datum |
| Edge | Reference chamfer <0.25 × 45° or drawing-specific bevel, flat or notch |
Common Disc Sizes Before Custom Machining
| Reference Diameter | Typical Starting Form | Quote-Critical Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Ø10 / 15 / 20 / 25.4 mm | Small optical or sensor disc | Thickness, surface and edge |
| Ø30 / 40 / 50 / 60 mm | Window, cover or coating blank | Clear aperture and parallelism |
| Ø76.2 / 100 / 150 / 200 mm | Large disc or process component | Flatness, handling edge and material grade |
| Up to Ø500 mm | Large custom disc | Drawing review for thickness, support and finish |

Large Ingot-Cut Disc Line
| Series | Diameter | Thickness | Dimensional acceptance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Precision-machined | Ø5–500 mm | By drawing | Diameter ±0.05–0.10 mm |
| Ingot-cut large disc | Up to Ø1800 mm | 5–200 mm | Cut blank dimensions and finishing allowance agreed separately |
The precision diameter tolerance applies to the machined series. It does not automatically apply to an Ø1800 mm blank.
