Quartz IR heater tubes built around heated length, power rating, and mounting — the functional specs that determine whether a heater actually fits and performs in your equipment, not tube size alone.
Power, heated length, and tube geometry aren't independent — a given power rating has to be delivered through a heated length and tube diameter that can actually dissipate it without overheating the quartz. Send target power alongside heated length, not either alone.
Quartz Infrared Heater Types
Short-wave and medium-wave heaters differ in their peak emission wavelength and response time — short-wave heats faster and responds more quickly to power changes, medium-wave has a more diffuse heat pattern. Which one fits your process depends on the material being heated and how fast you need the response; tell us your application and we'll confirm which type suits it.
Quartz Infrared Heaters Functional Standard & Manufacturing Limit
Tube geometry (OD, heated length, overall length) is something we supply directly; full heating-element assembly (element type, terminal wiring, power/voltage matching) depends on our current production scope for that specific configuration — confirm with us before assuming a complete wired heater is available off the shelf rather than tube stock built to your element and terminal spec.
Heated Length, Tube Geometry and Mounting
Heated length is the active radiating section; the unheated "cold ends" beyond it house the terminals and mounting points and don't contribute heat output. Overall length is heated length plus both cold ends, so specify heated length and terminal/mounting requirements separately rather than one overall number. Mounting geometry (end caps, brackets, clips) is confirmed against your fixture, since heater tubes are usually supported at both ends rather than freestanding.
Before shipment we check tube dimensions, heated-zone length, terminal condition, and — where a complete assembly with electrical connections is supplied — power/voltage and a functional test.
Electrical Ratings Apply Only to Confirmed Complete Heater Assemblies
| Controlled Feature | Reference Capability / Requirement |
|---|---|
| Supply Scope | Quartz tube / structural components, or complete heater assembly only when explicitly confirmed |
| Heater Structure | Single tube, paired / banked tubes or filament-style assembly |
| Quartz Envelope | Transparent, milky or gold-reflector configuration |
| Heated Length | Separated from total length and mounting zones |
| Power / Voltage | Stated only for a confirmed complete electrical assembly |
| Wavelength Direction | Short-wave 1.2 µm, medium-wave 2.4 µm or medium-long 3.5 µm reference categories |
| Reference Power | 500 W, 1 kW and 2 kW common assembly references, subject to electrical confirmation |
| Mounting | End terminations, brackets and clearances defined from equipment |
Match Wavelength Direction to the Heating Process
| Reference Type | Wavelength Direction | Supply-Scope Check |
|---|---|---|
| Short-wave | Approx. 1.2 µm reference | Confirm emitter and complete assembly scope |
| Medium-wave | Approx. 2.4 µm reference | Confirm envelope, reflector and electrical data |
| Medium-long wave | Approx. 3.5 µm reference | Confirm material response and heater construction |
| Quartz component only | No electrical rating assigned | Quote tube geometry and mounting features |

Grade-Qualified Material Purity
Electric-fused / flame-fused quartz: SiO₂ ≥99.99%; synthetic JGS1-grade fused silica: ≥99.999%. Grade and lot certificate govern supplied material.
Emitter Wavelength Ranges
| Emitter line | Typical wavelength interval | Peak / selection basis |
|---|---|---|
| Short-wave tungsten | 0.8–1.8 µm | Peak 1.2 µm |
| Medium-wave alloy | 2.2–3.5 µm | Nominal peak 2.4 µm; element temperature determines spectrum |
| Carbon-fiber | 2–9.5 µm catalog interval | Broad emission interval; confirm spectrum at rated operation |
Single and twin quartz envelopes, gold or white reflectors, straight and custom-shaped lamps, and horizontal or vertical configurations are specified by rated voltage, power, heated length and reflector orientation. Carbon-fiber emission is a broad interval, not a single 2–9.5 µm peak.
