Custom Quartz Plates & Sheets
| Parameter | Available configuration |
|---|---|
| Rough plate series | Up to L2000 × W2000 × T40 mm |
| Polished plate | L10 × W10 × T>0.8 mm to L1900 × W1800 × T40 mm |

Flat quartz stock cut to size, thickness, and edge condition — the base plate product this category builds on.
Plate size, thickness, and flatness aren't independent — a thin plate at a large L×W holds flatness less easily than the same flatness spec on a thicker or smaller piece. Confirm all three together, not flatness alone.
Available Shapes, Sizes and Surface Options
Standard plate is rectangular and as-cut. Ground surface (flat, matte finish, tighter thickness control) and polished surface (optical-quality finish) are available where the application needs more than a cut edge and rough face. Round and custom-profile plates are available too — for round stock specifically, see our Quartz Discs line.
Edge, Surface and Hole Finishing Options
Edges are as-cut as standard; ground or chamfered edges are available where a sharp edge would chip in handling or needs to seat against another part. Holes — for mounting or fixturing — are added by mechanical or diamond drilling down to about Ø0.8 mm at ±0.02 mm, or by laser for finer openings; tell us hole diameter and position and we'll confirm which process applies. Before shipment we check L×W×thickness, flatness, parallelism, edge condition, surface defects, and hole position.
Size Alone Does Not Define a Quartz Plate
| Controlled Feature | Reference Capability / Drawing Requirement |
|---|---|
| Flatness | Specified over the functional area rather than applied as one value to every plate size |
| Parallelism | Defined between the two finished faces where spacing or optical alignment depends on it |
| Surface Finish | As-cut / ground / single-side polished / double-side polished |
| Surface Quality | 80/50 functional / 60/40 precision / 40/20 optical reference levels |
| Edge Geometry | As-cut / ground edge / safety chamfer / bevel / radius / notch |
Match the Surface to the Plate Function
| Plate Level | Face & Edge Condition | Use When |
|---|---|---|
| Cut or Ground Stock | As-cut or ground faces; ground safety edges | Furnace liners, supports, heat shields and machining blanks |
| Functional Polished | One or two polished faces; 80/50 reference surface quality | Sight plates, protective covers and general transmission paths |
| Precision Flat Plate | 60/40 reference surface quality with flatness and parallelism on the drawing | Coating substrates, fixtures and alignment-sensitive equipment |
| Optical Plate | 40/20 reference surface quality; optical flatness specified separately | Windows, beam paths and precision optical processing |

Product Forms and Finished Components

Grade-Qualified Material Purity
Electric-fused / flame-fused quartz: SiO₂ ≥99.99%; synthetic JGS1-grade fused silica: ≥99.999%. Grade and lot certificate govern supplied material.
Large-Format Manufacturing Lines
| Form | Dimensional envelope |
|---|---|
| Rough plate series | Up to L2000 × W2000 × T40 mm |
| Polished plate | L10 × W10 × T>0.8 mm to L1900 × W1800 × T40 mm |
Size limits describe separate blank and finishing routes, not simultaneous limits for every material grade. Grinding allowance, optical aperture and finished tolerances are agreed by order.
