Inquiry

Quartz thin rods and wicks are fine solid elements for capillary assemblies, probes, lamp components, micro-supports and later flame working. The standard reference range is Ø0.3–3 mm and 20–300 mm long. Diameters down to Ø0.2 mm and longer parts are available as separately reviewed combinations.

Fine rods can be supplied as continuous stock, matched cut pieces or finished wicks with flat, pointed, rounded and small ball ends. Batch diameter consistency, end shape and protective packing are part of the manufacturing route.

Thin Rod and Wick Products

Fine Round Rod Stock

As-drawn solid quartz rod for production cutting, lampworking and insertion into small assemblies.

  • Ø0.3–3 mm standard range
  • Continuous or cut supply
  • Smooth as-drawn surface

Pointed Quartz Wicks

A tapered or pointed end creates a localized contact area for liquid pickup, heating, insertion and probe functions.

  • Single pointed end
  • Double-ended wick
  • Short or long taper

Rounded and Ball Ends

Flame-rounded tips remove the sharp cut edge. Small ball ends provide a smooth stop, contact point or retention feature.

  • Rounded tip
  • Small ball end
  • One or both ends

Matched Cut Pieces

Fine rods can be cut and grouped as consistent production batches for automated assembly, laboratory use and secondary fabrication.

  • Matched lengths
  • Fixed pack quantities
  • Separated protective packing

Fine-Rod Manufacturing Capabilities

Small-diameter rods require controlled drawing and careful downstream handling. Diameter, length, tip geometry and packing are treated as connected manufacturing stages.

Primary and Secondary Drawing

Quartz stock is drawn or redrawn into fine solid rod. Secondary drawing supports smaller diameters and specialized production batches.

  • Ø0.3–3 mm standard reference
  • Ø0.2 mm custom review
  • Round solid cross-section
Output: fine rod stock with consistent diameter

Precision Cut-to-Length

Fine rods are cut into individual pieces or matched batches. Cutting is arranged to limit chips and contact damage at the ends.

  • 20–300 mm standard reference
  • Matched batch lengths
  • Flat-cut ends
Output: assembly-ready fine rod pieces

Flame-Formed Tips

Localized flame working produces points, rounded tips, tapers and small ball ends without machining the complete rod.

  • Pointed wick ends
  • Rounded tips
  • Ball and stop features
Output: functional wick and probe geometries

Batch Inspection and Packing

Diameter, cut length and tip form are checked before rods are separated, bundled or placed into fixed-count packs.

  • Visual damage inspection
  • Batch length checks
  • Protective separation
Output: counted batches protected for transport and assembly

Fine Rods for Further Quartz Fabrication

Thin rod stock can be sealed into capillaries, sleeves and lamp assemblies or used as a starting element for flame-formed probes and supports. The as-drawn surface minimizes secondary machining and keeps the rod suitable for later hot work.

Applications

Quartz Wicks

Pointed and tapered solid elements for controlled liquid-contact and heating functions.

Probes and Supports

Fine nonmetallic members for compact sensing and laboratory assemblies.

Lamp and Heater Parts

Small solid quartz supports and formed features used in thermal assemblies.

Capillary Assemblies

Solid inserts, spacers and alignment elements combined with quartz capillary tubing.

Fine Quartz Rods and Finished Wicks

Available as drawn stock, matched cut pieces or flame-finished components for assembly.
