Thin quartz gaskets, washers, and spacers cut to OD, ID, and a tight thickness tolerance — where flatness matters more than any other dimension.
Thickness and flatness are the two specs that matter most on a gasket — OD and ID mainly need to fit the bore or bolt pattern they're seated in, but thickness consistency across the part is what determines whether it actually seals or spaces evenly.
Quartz Gaskets Factory Standard & Manufacturing Limit
Thin quartz parts get harder to hold flat as they get thinner relative to their diameter — the table above reflects standard capability, and pushing thickness toward the minimum at a large OD is the combination most likely to need confirmation before we commit to a schedule.
Thickness, Flatness and Surface Requirements
Flatness is checked unclamped — a gasket that reads flat while held down by a fixture can still show warp once released, which matters if it's going into an application without full-face clamping. Surface finish is ground standard; polished is available where the gasket seats against an optical or precision surface rather than a mechanical one. Edge chamfer is standard to prevent chipping. Before shipment we check OD, ID, thickness (multiple points), flatness, parallelism, and edge condition.
Thickness and Face Geometry Control the Stack-Up
| Controlled Feature | Reference Capability / Requirement |
|---|---|
| ID × OD | Matched to the flange, tube or seating diameter |
| Thickness | 0.5–5 mm common quotation range |
| Thickness Tolerance | ±0.05 mm industry-reference level for precision spacers |
| Flatness | Specified on seating faces where contact is functional |
| Parallelism | Controls installed axial spacing |
| Surface | Ground or polished according to contact and cleanliness |
| Edge | Plain, chamfered or radiused |
| Material | Low-OH quartz option for vacuum and thermal assemblies |
Use Quartz as a Rigid Seating Element, Not an Elastomer
| Form | Controlled Features | Typical Function |
|---|---|---|
| Ring gasket | ID, OD and thickness | Rigid annular seating element |
| Washer | Hole and outside diameter | Bolt or support isolation |
| Precision spacer | Thickness, parallelism and faces | Controlled equipment stack-up |
| Custom outline | Drawing-defined perimeter and holes | Equipment-specific isolation |
