Custom Quartz Fritted Discs
| Parameter | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| Pore grade | P0 (coarse) through P6 (ultra-fine) — general porosity classification |
| Pore size range | >250 µm (P0) down to <1.6 µm (P6) |
| Diameter | 10–150 mm |
| Thickness | 2–8 mm |
| Edge | Loose disc or pre-welded into a housing |

Sintered quartz filter discs selected by pore grade — the pore rating is what actually determines whether a disc works for your process, not disc size alone.
Pore grade, flow rate, and pressure drop move together — a finer pore grade filters more but restricts flow more, so the right grade depends on both what you're filtering out and how much flow your process needs.
Available Quartz Fritted Discs Forms
Discs are supplied loose (for you to weld or mount into your own housing) or pre-welded into a quartz tube or funnel body. Tell us which you need — a loose disc's edge finish differs from one being fused into an assembly.
Pore Grade Selection for Filtration and Gas Diffusion
Pore grade is chosen by what needs to pass through and what needs to be stopped — coarse grades (P0–P1) suit gas diffusion and coarse particulate filtration where flow rate matters most; fine grades (P4–P6) suit fine particulate filtration or applications needing a consistent, small bubble size in gas diffusion. If you have a target flow rate or a particle size that must be retained, share it and we'll confirm the grade that fits.
Quartz Fritted Discs Functional Standard & Manufacturing Limit
The table above covers what's repeatable without added lead time. Flow and pressure-drop data for a given grade depend on disc thickness and diameter as well as pore size — where we have measured data for a specific grade/thickness combination, we'll share it; otherwise it's confirmed through testing on your specific configuration.
Diameter, Thickness and Pore Grade Must Be Quoted Together
| Controlled Feature | Reference Capability / Requirement |
|---|---|
| Diameter | Ø10–200 mm common quotation range |
| Thickness | Selected with diameter, support and pressure differential |
| Porosity Grade | P0–P5 reference classification aligned to ISO 4793 ranges |
| Pore Range | Controlled within the selected grade rather than as one exact pore diameter |
| Effective Area | Porous working diameter separated from the outer sealing edge |
| Edge | Plain, ground or prepared for welding into an assembly |
| Material | High-purity quartz frit material |
| Common Grades | P1–P4 are common commercial quotation grades; availability confirmed per order |
P0–P5 Reference Ranges
| Grade | Reference Pore Range | Selection Direction |
|---|---|---|
| P0 | 160–250 µm | Coarse distribution / support |
| P1 | 100–160 µm | Coarse filtration or gas dispersion |
| P2 | 40–90 µm | Medium filtration |
| P3 | 16–40 µm | Fine filtration or dispersion |
| P4 | 10–16 µm | Fine porous element |
| P5 | 1–1.6 µm | Very fine reference grade |
