Custom Quartz Combustion Boats
| Parameter | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| Length | 50–150 mm |
| Width | 10–30 mm |
| Depth | 10–25 mm |
| Wall / bottom thickness | 1–3 mm |
| Capacity | Set by length × width × depth |

Small open quartz troughs for sample combustion, ashing, or thermal treatment inside a furnace tube — sized to your sample volume and furnace tube ID.
Capacity isn't a spec on its own — it follows directly from length, width, and depth, so send those three dimensions rather than a target volume alone. The boat also has to fit inside your furnace tube ID with clearance to load and unload, so confirm tube ID alongside boat width.
Wall, Bottom and End Geometry
Wall and bottom thickness are chosen for thermal shock resistance and handling durability, not for capacity — a boat that's repeatedly heated and cooled needs enough wall thickness to avoid cracking, which is more of a factor at larger sizes. Ends are typically open (rectangular trough) or slightly upturned to keep sample material from spilling during handling.
Quartz Combustion Boats Size / Capacity / Joint Standard
Boat length and width are usually constrained by your furnace tube's inside diameter — the boat has to pass through the tube opening and sit within the heated zone. Send your furnace tube ID and heated-zone length alongside your target sample capacity so we can confirm a boat that fits both.
Specify the Instrument Model Before the Boat Dimensions
| Controlled Feature | Reference Capability / Requirement |
|---|---|
| Instrument / Method | LECO-, ELTRA-class or other analyzer geometry identified in the RFQ |
| Length × Width × Height | Finished envelope matched to the sample port and handling tool |
| Usable Depth | Defined separately from the outside height |
| Wall / Bottom Thickness | Selected for sample load and heating cycle |
| End Geometry | Open, raised, handled or instrument-specific end form |
| Surface | Polished or matte according to sample-release and handling needs |
| Material Requirement | High-purity, low-ash quartz requirement stated with the analytical method |
| Acceptance | Fit, visible defects and finished dimensions checked against the agreed drawing |
Analyzer Compatibility Is More Useful Than a Generic Size List
| Input | Why It Matters | What to Send |
|---|---|---|
| Analyzer model | Controls loading aperture and boat travel | Manufacturer and model |
| Sample method | Controls usable volume and residue handling | Carbon/sulfur, ashing or TGA method |
| Boat envelope | Controls fit and transfer | L × W × H plus end profile |
| Surface condition | Affects sample release and cleaning | Polished or matte |
